What Is the Type III Handle?

The Type III Handle is a crucial accessory designed to assist with the insertion and extraction of PCB boards in subrack systems. It simplifies the pull-out operation, ensuring users can easily and safely handle circuit boards during maintenance or installation.

This handle assembly consists of four key components:

  • Handle: Made of PC+GF20% (Polycarbonate with 20% glass fiber), featuring excellent strength and durability. It complies with the fire retardant standard UL94V1.

  • Scutcheon (Cover Plate): Manufactured from aluminum alloy 6063T5, providing sturdy protection and a clean finish.

  • Printed Board Bracket: Constructed from die-cast zinc alloy with nickel plating, ensuring corrosion resistance and structural stability.

  • Shaft: Made of brass, offering reliable rotation and mechanical support.

These materials are carefully selected to provide a balance of durability, safety, and aesthetic appeal, suitable for demanding industrial environments.

How to Use the Type III Handle?

The usage of the Type III Handle depends on the size of the PCB board installed in the subrack:

  • For 3U Boards: Only one handle needs to be installed at the bottom of the PCB. This simplifies the design while ensuring secure handling.

  • For 6U Boards: Two handles are required, one at the top and one at the bottom, to provide balanced support during insertion and extraction.

Installation Tips:

  • Ensure the handle components are firmly secured during assembly to avoid loosening during operation.

  • Avoid excessive force when pulling out the PCB to prevent damage to the handle or board.

  • The handle is designed for easy replacement or customization, allowing adaptation to various user needs.
