Subrack is a standardized electromechanical structure used for mounting and protecting electronic modules or plug-in units. It is widely applied in vehicle control systems and ground signal systems within the rail transit industry.
This article introduces what are the advantages of installing our designed F48 series ejector handle on European connectors in the vibration environment of rail transit and how to select structural components for connecting daughter cards to the Subrack when these control systems require front panel wiring and when DIN 41612 connectors are used for daughter card cabling.
Daughter cards with soldered DIN 41612 connectors
13-position coding combs and coding pins
F48 series ejectors
Card-to-chassis mounting blocks
External D20 connector shells
Front panels and related fasteners
Simplest Configuration: Daughter card + 13-position coding comb and coding pins + card-to-chassis mounting block + front panel and fasteners. In this configuration, cable connectivity relies solely on the two mounting bolts on the external D20 connector.
An alternative configuration replaces the card-to-chassis mounting block with an F48 ejector. This provides assistance for ejecting the daughter card while all other functions remain unchanged. For both configurations, it is recommended to use relatively lightweight external connectors since the external cable harness is secured only by the two mounting screws on the D20 connector.
When a metal-shell D20 connector is used for the external harness, the increased weight of the metal shell and cable harness may affect connection reliability. In such cases, the F48K or F48KB ejectors are recommended. These ejectors not only facilitate card ejection but also provide additional support to the external D20 connector through a latching mechanism, thereby enhancing operational reliability, it also improves the reliability and stability of the connector in the vibration environment of rail transit.
